Personal attention and great stories. So much stuff to talk about with the volunteer, who was very kind! Loved it!

The perfect place to learn about the History of Caswell County, NC. It is housed in the Gatewood Home (John Yancey Gatewood and wife, Mary Lea Florance). The artist Maud Gatewood was born in this house. There is a gallery of her artwork and personal effects. There are several exhibits, including the local military history as well as some Thomas Day Furniture. A genealogy research room provides histories written by family members. A great place to spend the afternoon. Tours are also given of the Historical Courthouse, circa 1861, the 1905 jail, and a one room school house.
