On Thursday, December 10, 2015; between the hours of 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., I was headed home {on foot and on crutches} from the DSS Office in Yanceyville when Officer Jacob Dickerson saw me. He was parked at the Tax Office Building. I was feeling pretty bad from a fall I had taken in February 2015 and injured the L-2 through L-5 of my lumbar spine and the C-5 through the C-7 of my cervical spine. Officer Dickerson stopped as I was standing at the intersection of E Church Street and North Avenue. He asked if I needed any help, {which was an answer to my prayer that I had just prayed}, because I knew that I couldn't make the long trek home without help. He took me home, a gesture that I felt others should know about, especially in this day and time in which so many law enforcement officers are in the crosshairs of secular judgment. I say, "Thank you, Officer Dickerson, for going above and beyond the call of duty in helping a disabled veteran to get home." Kudos to you; young man, for not only recognizing a need, but for actually doing something about it!!
